Yamal has shown the quality and talent he has because his performance during the euro and this season has proven that he only needs time to achieve success as a great player for the years to come. Indeed, he is not yet worthy of being compared to messi but he is a child's trust who meets the criteria as messi who rattles his opponents with the skills he has.
Many youth players shown their great talent but they failed under pressure and expectation from clubs, coaches and fans. Yamal is different because he not only has great talent but also has very strong mentality to fight against pressure, expectation and critics.
He shown his strong mentality and confidence in many big matches for Barcelona and Spain last three years, and it's great foundation for his success in future. I have zero doubt about his talent and mentality, but I am worrying about how he will be used by coaches at Barcelona and Spanish national teams as well as how he will improve his playing style and skills to proactively avoid injuries. Injuries will be big challenge and risk for his career length and success.
Barcelona's future is bright with young players like Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Gavi, Cubarsi, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, Marc Casado, Bernal, Balde, and Araujo. I'm sure Barcelona will return to the glory era like Messi's era, and most likely this season will get at least one trophy. Because they currently have opportunities in Laliga, Copa del Rey, and the Champions League. They might even have won more than one trophy if no players were injured.
Barcelona are lucky because they don't have to wait for too long time after a golden generation of Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Busquet, ... to have a new talented young generation. These players are made up a very young squad for Barcelona and they are future of the club in about next 10 years or even longer.
Messi is a brightest star player in their previous golden generation and Yamal has shown his professionality and capability to take a same important role in this Barcelona player generation.
