Few online newspapers confirmed that Vladimir Putin is ready for a truce talk. Donald Trump has threatened to place more sanctions on Russia; maybe the pressure is also making Russia consider a peace talk. Russia was always ready for a peace talk but at current time, Russia is in no hurry.
If Russia was always ready for a peace talk, why they had to start this war? They're ready for peace negotiations, but things haven't changed since March 2022 - they only ready to talk with their initial conditions and these conditions basically means capitulation of Ukraine. Russia started the war thinking that they would overrun Ukraine in three days. But the fight went out of control and that might also be the reason why they want a ceasefire. The return of annexed land back to Ukraine will be very difficult. I just hope both parties will find common ground and accept this peace deal because we want an end to death and destruction.
