OP, you have explained very nicely that gambling is a trap! There is a possibility of losing a large amount of money from a small amount of money. If a gambler does not control himself after losing a small amount of money, then he will gradually lose a large amount of money. And if he has to borrow another to pay off one debt, then that debt never leaves the person. So take gambling as gambling, not as entertainment. Give yourself a break, take a break; that is how you can do good.
I think that when gamblers start getting loans to continue their betting then something really bad is happening in their minds.
They basically have lost all their money, and now are starting to lose other people's money.
And that can escalate quite fast, and sometimes the end of those situations is not pretty...
At least when a gambler uses their own money they can recover easily if they focus on themselves. Other people might not have the patience.
