Not everyone will end up as an addicted gambler, so there's no need to have absolutes like that.

I do agree that for some people the best thing they can do is to actually never gamble, but that doesn't apply to everyone.

Yeah, or if they've been addicted, maybe some of us here was able to get over and then reset, we still gamble but it's not like when we really go overboard and uses all our money. So we commend those who have recovered. And to be honest, it's very hard to be free of gambling, specially in the time that we have right now, wherein gambling is accessible as it is online.

Maybe both can exists though, we gamble and then we continue with our lives even if gambling is all around us. For me experience, there are days that I can go without gambling and then when I come back, I don't know, I don't have the same feeling as before and just bet on play slots to have some fun and before going to bed.
