Sir Jim Ratcliffe also said that Amorim is still doing good jobs with the players currently owned. But I am not an issue of Amorim but I highlighted how Manchester United's appearance, especially this season. If in UEFA Europe League they get good results, but in the Premier League they become an easy team for opponents to target points every time they face Manchester United.
I think having a pessimistic attitude towards Manchester United when facing Real Sociedad is not without reason where other people might have the same attitude towards the results that Manchester United will get later.
So far I think Ruben Amorim is failing in Manchester United but he joined the club in middle of season with lot of chaos and challenge as well as very bad mentality of their players. It's fairer for Amorim if we give him one more season (the next one) with a full summer season for player transfers and trainings, before we can conclude his management quality in the club.
Meeting Real Sociedad in UEFA Europa League is not easy for Manchester United, but it's their only hope to fight, win the title and go directly to a UEFA Champions League next season. If players they have now are still ambitious and want to play in Champions League, they will try as best as they can, because with knock out phases, they don't need to be strongest to win the title.
Although I am not a Manchester United fan, I think Amorim does not deserve to be called a failure with the squad he is managing.
On average, all players who entered the Manchester United line up in several competitions this season 90% were transfers made by the coach before Amorim.
Next season when the club management provides enough money to shop for players and Amorim does it, that's when we can start to judge how great he is in handling a club as big as Manchester United.
Amorim has succeeded in bringing Manchester United through to the quarter finals and meeting Lyon later will be a challenge for him.
