Setting limits or a time is a great one. Once you hit one of those no matter what get up and walk away. Even if you are on a good run. It shows to yourself you are in control of your time and what you are doing. It alows you to not fall into that gambling hole which is easily done.

The only other one i would add is dont be afraid to seek professional help. Its a sign of strength to ask for help not weakness.

Sometimes wining can be over whelming that you forget who is in charge and gamble more than you should. I doubt if there is any gambler who have full control 100% over gamble. Sometimes we find out we are in the wrong part after we've already made the mistake but the most important thing is to is to admit your mistakes and work on the possible correction. Not identifying that you're actually making a mistake catastrophic because you can actually gamble irresponsibly without knowing that you're not in the right part and before you may come into realization, it's possible to have already made a disastrous financial mistake. Asking for help from the wrong person can also mislead the gambler into making more mistakes. Though it's best to make your research and ask same questions to multiple persons so you can make a conclusion based on the data you've accumulated.
