To prevent people from getting addicted to gambling, it should be possible to do with some restrictions that can be adjusted by the gambler himself. But for people who are already addicted, doing restrictions is certainly not enough, meaning there must be a procedure where gamblers will be forced to start getting used to always being within limits. The control that is carried out will not be easy for someone who is already addicted. But we should be able to accustom our brains not to play excessively. I think the problem is in our gambling habits and activity patterns that must be adjusted more.

On the other hand, we must be able to fill other activities so that we slowly get used to eliminating the habit of gambling, gradually the brain system will get used to it because it can limit gambling by doing other activities. Whatever the method, gambling addiction can be avoided, the most important thing is that there is a will from himself to be able to reduce the gambling activities that Have been done so far.
Diverting thoughts of wanting to gamble by doing something else is one thing that can be done to avoid the habit of gambling, but this is not easy because for people who cannot control themselves they will still follow their desire to gamble and for those who are addicted no matter how difficult the situation is they will follow their desire to gamble. But if we can divert the thought of wanting to gamble consistently maybe it will work. I agree with what you said, gambling addiction can be avoided if we ourselves have a strong will not to be addicted to gambling, and also no matter how severe the addiction is it can be cured as long as there is a will to recover from gambling addiction.
