All said and done, my only issue is "ICC tourney fatigue" and if I am being honest, then more so with the T20 WC.
Same tbh. T20WC is way too frequent, it feels like it has just ended and next is right around the corner (i.e, 2026). This is why I didn't like Indian fans overblown celebrations either. I mean sure it was win, but this WC win is not significant due to how frequent it's held.
People here talk that ODI format should be scrapped off, but imho ODIWC is only thing that's prestigious.
A decade old drought ended with the T-20 WC trophy, so I can understand the overblown celebrations. The recent CT triumph was the cherry on top. ODI WC hits different chords because it comes every 4 years, hence the novelty and prestigious event.
IMO, When people talk about scrapping off the ODI format, they mean dead rubber bilateral series. I am also not a fan of the braindead bilateral series (T-20/ODI). It makes sense when the ICC tourney is around as it provides some context or its tri-series.
