In one article, they called him by his real name "the Professional Bitcoin Critic" and I think that describes him in the best way - because the man has been saying for over 10 years that BTC is a scam and a Ponzi scheme, and at the same time the bank he ran went bankrupt due to accusations of mounting tax evasion and money laundering.
There is a better name for Peter Schiff, "A Delusional Bitcoin Critic" because I don't see Professional is fitted with him. 
With outperformance of Bitcoin against Gold in ROIs since 2009, he is not professional by maintaining his critics against Bitcoin over many years. He ignored many big facts that Bitcoin is better than Gold as a storage of value and even in payment too.
I think he perhaps was informed about this The bullish case for Bitcoin but very likely ignored it. A truly delusional person who has big hate against Bitcoin and don't want to absorb any information that possibly enlighten his stance on Bitcoin.
