I really think that today most of the people just hoard Bitcoin with the hope to get a gain. Investment is the main driving force behind any cryptocurrency right now. But that doesn't exclude that, in the future, we will se some more international transactions occurring in digital currency. It is usually cheaper and faster than any traditional SWIFT wire transfer.
It could happen but I think it's more likely they'll pick one of the altcoins or it will be stablecoin, because they clearly outperform bitcoin in terms of fees as well as transaction speed. Not to mention, with the use of centralized coins, it will be easier for governments and law enforcement agencies to control and manage us. I doubt they will legalize or allow people to use bitcoin as an alternative payment method because that would make it difficult for them to control and manage. We should accept the fact that due to the decentralized nature of bitcoin, it will be difficult for governments to legalize it as a payment method.
The governmental supervision is the hardest part, I prefer to keep it decentralized and not controllable. To be fair, if they just want to see what I am doing, they are free to do that and mostly can do that, they know what I am doing. The only issue is we can't really trust them to only "see" what is happening. They will probably have the right to control it too, like reverse, seize, whatever they want.

Hence, why I believe CBDC type of stuff will be a big failure and it won't make much money. In the last end, we shouldn't worry about any of this, and just focus on how we could make some decent returns from normal bitcoin. Using bitcoin would be a great way to promote it, allows us to get more people interested in it.
