They are giving them an extra $30mln to race in the Red Bull - $10mln extra from that just to have him race in Japan since they will get the publicity having him the poster child of the RB/Honda deal until it expires.

I'd expect that any of those drivers, after the first season don't really drive for the money, but for thrill and fame.
I guess that Yuki will try to get the best of his chances in a car supposed to be properly fast, even if it's neither fast enough (Max' words, after all), nor drivable (see Checo and now Liam). If he does good enough he may have his chances also when the car is fixed.
Just as I said, this will mean a hugely lot of extra pressure for him.

And yeah, from publicity point of view I can understand why they took Yuki now.

Since Horner is the CEO he can use this as he likes some were joking that he will buy another farm or use it to reunite the Spice Girls so his wife Geri can go on tour again.

LOL!  Cheesy Cheesy

So they know the car is shitty but let's throw a newbie at it because the stars might align and he would be the next Verstappen.
God forbid we might actually fix the car rather than try pilot after pilot.Funny how RB is going the Ferrari way, hunting for pilots rather than actually pulling a good tech team together that actually know how to change some damn tyres.  Grin

They know the car is shitty, they are not idiots. But they will not tell it loudly, and hiding behind a "smoke" of newbies is just to keep their ad money flowing as usual.

It's not that I hate Yuki for something or I'ma Lawson's fan, but just to make the whole team at RB embarrassed as hell, I would love to see him ending ways back, what will they say if he finishes behind Hadjar?
Grabbing my popcorn!

I will not be surprised at all if he will DNF.
