Where did I hear similar reasoning 90 years ago?
Russian fascist dictatorship has been literally jailing and killing their opponents, but it's France taking measures against Russian hybrid warfare that goes too far in your opinion?

I am sure that you are familiar with Valery Gerasimov doctrine, and how they are doing it, but France should act like everything is ok?

Sometimes there are innocent and less innocent casualties in wars. Like i am certain that there are many decent Russians that are innocent casualties. Those who been jailed for speaking against their dictator, or fled the country for example. War, or cold war isn't supposed to be fun and sophisticated event where people would act calmly and rationally against the enemy. Fighting back sometimes means dealing with extreme circumstances, and democracy hasn't been more under attack for a long time. And frankly, France has been almost losing it, like US. That means we need extreme measures to protect it.

We can argue how many rules we can bend by justifying it with a cold war, but we are fighting against an opponent that doesn't have rules, so we need to adapt.
France is just mad because Putin through Wagner stopped them killing and plundering throughout Africa.
About time, or they would continue to devastate continent, like they did with Libya

Also, you didn't read your own link, lol:

"The Gerasimov Doctrine, named after the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces General Valery Gerasimov, is a pseudo-military doctrine created by the Western media and some Russian analysts."
I haven't seen that update, so my bad. But you should maybe read the sources on that. (Not from the Heritage foundation, as that's going to be garbage, and which is actually banned from wikipedia sources, so they are using an archive link.)

Just because the term was a place holder, that doesn't mean those tactics don't exist.

And nice diverting right there. Are you sure you want to go defending propaganda from corrupt private military company Wagner group, formed by admirer of Nazi Germany, that defended African warlords with literal gun on their flag? Group who were living in luxury by skimming from African diamond mining? You really want to that road, when i was responding to implicated Nazi accusations of France?

Your double standards are off the scale.
