People who are on the side of criticism, and using their money for other purposes, still fun but no potential of them to make money from it could be said to be the ones making the financial mistake. What do you think?
I would like to stay neutral on this topic. People are entitled on what they wanted to do on their money and people have different point of view about this kind of stuff. In terms of financial literacy, any means of spending money without a sure chance of gaining from it is a waste of resources so we cannot argue with their belief while those who are into religious thing will frown on any gambling activities due to their belief.
I view gambling as entertainment and not a means of earning money but I would not go to the point of arguing with others insisting on my view about gambling engagement. Too much spending on any entertainment can be a financial mistake, so whether gambling is a financial mistake is dependent on how we spend on it. I agree that responsible gambling is not a financial mistake but beyond that, it is.
While I do not think that not gambling could be a financial mistake. I nullify the what-if scenario in this case because the what-if of making money can be equally refuted by the what-if of losing money.
