I feel bad when I read gambling stories that led to suicide. No mayyer how addicted someone is, please don't hide it from anyone. It's better for people to talk to you and help you with words of advice and encouragement because they go a long way. However, some gamblers prefer to keep their addition as  a secret, and it's only when they're ready to let go that you can help them.
Indeed is very badsad to see that one would just take because of gambling and commit suicide. of course that is the problem most gamblers are having in gambling, how can someone eventually hide his gambling addiction while he or she knows that it can lead to depression. Because just like as you mentioned once a gambler that is addicted to gambling open up to you that he is addicted, you most definitely look for a way out for him to be free from it.
