Well that is what the market looks like, there wasn't really anything that shows that the market would recover and do better. So, I wasn't entirely sure what would change and because of that I am not entirely sure why people didn't realize long was a mistake at this point, it didn't look like a good idea at all.

I can see how market may look down and that is why you assumed "well it can't forever go down, it has to recover eventually" but what made you believe that would be today? That type of drop, usually doesn't recover overnight, it takes a while and this was one of those cases, it is taking a while to recover and will continue to do so. I am pretty sure that we are going to see much better results eventually, just need to wait.
