Usually it is a job that leads to the initial capital worthy enough to start an investment. It does not mean that no bootstrapped investments are not possible but they are less and usually smaller in capital. Once your daily needs are solved then you think of investments.

I dont think there is such a clear cut division between who is an investor and who is a trader or a day worker. People can be all three at the same time or none at all.

The only thing that matters is the end result here. If you are working and getting a good salary enough to save up and invest good for you.
