Just stopping and not doing anything else doesn't really work very well to be honest.

You need to have a separate thing that you want to do, to make your life interesting. Otherwise your brain will just want to continue gambling.

It is correct that the addiction is hard to stop permanently. I can stop gambling but it can be for a day, week, month even year but till now I could not stop gambling whether in sportsbooks or casinos. After a break, I had to rejoin gambling and add a loss amount to my gambling experience.
