Yes, the thing is that when a gambler starts with that conviction, that they need to win X amount of money for example, then that's when they might end up losing it all.

That's when a gambler might actually end up in financial ruin, because the longer they play, the more probable it is for them to lose it all.

It's just a matter of probabilities. The odds are against the gambler, so that means they will end up losing it all.

If you don't have the right understanding and discipline you may able to prevent gaining stress while playing, knowing gambling mostly cause you regrets, its better to set your limits and avoid overspending your money. Though there are some gamblers who knows how to stop whenever they needed to stop. The kind of discipline which is needed to continue being chill while playing a game.
