For me personally, I think a well-documented API for BitcoinTalk.org would be way more valuable in the long run. It would allow developers in the community to build their own tools and interfaces to interact with the forum. We could get better search functions, notification systems, maybe even alternative front-ends. That feels like a more modern and ultimately more useful way to leverage the community's talent and resources, rather than just inheriting potentially outdated and complex software.
