In this season, not only Newcastle United but also other clubs are competiting for top five, are all inconsistent with their performances. They can lose to either strong or weak opponents with their inconsistency and this match is bad but does not make Newcastle United weaker. They are just what they are in this season, with enough competitiveness to fight for top five but not strong enough to surely get a position in it.

I recognize that Newcastle is a good team, they have made good investments and are in a better position to guarantee qualification for the European Champions League. But I think the club's management should be fighting to become Premier League champions. They have the capacity to do so.

Newcastle must have felt a shock from their performance in the weekend. Losing to Aston Villa was not expected at all, I was expecting Newcastle to defeat Aston villa to keep their dream of making it to the Champions League unfortunately for them, Aston Villa played like they needed the points the most. Newcastle’s next game is against Ipswich which is expected to be a win for Newcastle, hopefully they will win this game and progress upwards.

I know that Aston Villa are very strong and that in the last few games they have been doing very well, but I expected to see a balanced game, in which Newcastle would also score a lot of goals, especially since both teams are still fighting to occupy the qualifying places for the European Champions League.
