I go along with all the comparisons but I'm curious if being a professional gambler also means you're a profitable gambler? We all know that people's reason to gamble is money. Whatever type of person you are, it's always the money you're after, the fun part just comes second. The fact that gambling relies on luck to win, it doesn't guarantee a person with the proper discipline to earn money from it. The house always wins in a casino. It will always find a way to beat the gambler. There could be a little to no difference between a casual and professional gambler in terms of profitability if luck won't be on their side. And there could be times that an aggressive gambler wins the jackpot if fortune favors him.
A professional gambler have more chances than regular gamblers because they know how to treat gambling as well. They don't forcing themselves to keep gambling if the situation is not good for them. They can win the money compare to the regular gamblers but I agree that luck will be needed here so both professional and regular gamblers can not always win.
But as we see what @OP explain, professional gamblers have more things from regular gamblers. So that is why they can use their skill, control, management, discipline and other things in gambling and not become addicted to gambling. They can also adapt with the current situation and know what to decide.
the truth in my opinion is that there is no professional player, you could just be simply better at the game when you challenge someone, more disciplined, more trained, but I don't think there is professionalism in the game, I just think it's a GAME, something where luck counts a lot, and that's it
