I think instead of pushing adoption through social platforms, it would be better if governments and more institutional investors begin to accept crypto as this will increase market stability and bring in more liquidity. It’s not about growing numbers anymore, we should maintain the quality of the space.
Not all governments support crypto adoption. Moreover, we have seen how important social media is in building communities. Everyone has access to social media, I don't see the effort to encourage adoption of social media as a biased effort. But what happens is widespread adoption from many groups of people in society. Indeed, adoption from certain governments and institutions can be a strong adoption with large numbers, but the crypto market is now growing bigger than that. Even governments and institutions come later, for now.
Not all, but "most" big ones do, I still have no clue what China is doing because they always change their minds, but aside from them, every other big nation already accepts it and sees it as another currency and you are free to invest.

And yes, social media could be used to enter big communities and groups, which is why it is important, it increases the adoption, and not only that, but even for people who are already invested, it creates a group where you could keep talking about it and stop making it a solo thing. Even a simple crowded reddit subreddit would make it very promising for all of us, because we can keep talking about it. This is why I love bitcointalk, it allows all bitcoin people to get together and talk about it, and not be alone.
