Sounds like if I still want to spec mine new projects, I’ll have to dig into Discords, Twitter, and watch GitHub for real PoW launches instead of just relying on BitcoinTalk announcements like before.

is also another platform that post any newly launched coins, coingecko also post newly launched, cryptoslate does same too.
You can also use coinlaunch to track some ICOs.

If there's any specific coins you are looking for, you can check those platform. So many scam projects has probably made some reputable bounty managers not to bring random project on the forum except they are sure about the project. So, that's probably why you don't see so many ANN thread as before.
