A real hedge of inflation must be predictable, and unfortunately the high volatility of Bitcoin prevents for knowing if its price at the end of the year will higher or lower than today's one. When the value of an asset stays rather stable, it's not a big deal, even it is lower than today, because you won't lose much money in the end. But Bitcoin price movements over the year can get a +50% increase or a -50% decrease.
