Probably because on bonus feature some slot game indicates the number of spin as “free spin”. Because bonus feature can be achieved using normal spin which means all the extra spin are considered as free spin.

It used to be €500 for the 1st place before the change but it used to be 5 winners only every round.
Now they have 10 winners and the prizepool need to be adjusted with resulted in a big cut-off for the top winners.
Meanwhile the minimum bet remains the same as before which I think is too big now with possible best reward at €150 only.
I believe it would have been more interesting if they increased the number of winners but kept the same reward structure and prize amounts, at least for the top three winners and especially that they removed the wagering contest. Lowering the min bet amount is also a good idea!
