I can’t understand how anyone who have played slots doesn’t know the difference between free spins and bonus buy or the bonus feature!
Free spins are nothing but regular spins and as the name suggests they are for free which gamblers get as a reward or bonus. Whereas, bonus buys are when you pay exra money to instanty trigger the bonus feature.
Probably because on bonus feature some slot game indicates the number of spin as “free spin”. Because bonus feature can be achieved using normal spin which means all the extra spin are considered as free spin.
This comes the confusion on terms being use especially for those slot players that is not playing frequently.
The most confusing part about it is that a

I think that is especially confusing to the gambling newcomers. Bonus spins can also be described as free spins even though they might not really be the same in their own particular nature
