That's a completely different context IMHO (major mining companies), as per the OP, we're talking about a scenario of a single user having a machine or two "for fun," and the one my comment was addressed towards.

Firstly, it is a very expensive entertainment to buy an ASIC for 5-7 thousand dollars, which will consume more than 5 kilowatts per hour. You have many risks of ASIC breakdowns, overheating of the electrical network, and so on. Beginners do not buy such equipment. And if the equipment is also water-cooled, then this is an additional problem.
