I am almost doubting Arsenal's resolve to end in the second place in the EPL standings this season. Liverpool may have won the league already but they wouldn't want to lose another game in a row after losing to Chelsea last weekend, so at least they will want to settle for a draw against Arsenal. And with Manchester city just 3 points behind Arsenal, if City wins Southampton in their match today they will be point parallel with Arsenal which gives them a high chance of taking over the second position on the table with Arsenal dropping to third place. All of these will be determined in their next game's after this very weekend all things being equal.

Arsenal and Man City will currently focus on maintaining their positions in the standings for a Champions League ticket next season. Arsenal facing Liverpool, will certainly have quite a hard time with the resistance from the Premier League champions this season. But Man City may be very favored to win in this week's match.
If Arsenal is unable to get a win, then what happens is that their position is shifted by Man City with a goal difference. We are approaching the end of the season, and the competition for a place in the Champions League is certainly getting more exciting, seeing the points difference, which is not too far between the teams.

It seems that your prediction is wrong, even though Arsenal lost to Liverpool, they will still be in second place.

The match between Manchester City VS Southampton has just ended, and the score ended in a 0-0 draw. It is very hard to believe that facing a team that will be relegated, Manchester City was only able to get one point over Southampton. In fact, if we look back at the match statistics, Manchester City had quite a lot of opportunities to score goals against Southampton, where there were at least 26 attempts at shots, but it is very unfortunate that only 5 shots were on target, but even then they were still blocked by A. Ramsdale.

I like the spirit of the Southampton players, where even though their team is certain to be relegated at the end of this season, they did not choose to give up, they really gave their best performance in the match, this is an extraordinary achievement for Southampton towards the end of the season.
