Your friend added the 2FA. Electrum generated 2FA seed phrase for him.

Tell him to use the seed phrase to recover the wallet, he will see where he will by-pass the 2FA.

Edit:

He should click on wallet with two-factor authentication -> I already have a seed. He should past the seed and click on next. He will see this:



Click on disable to bypass it.
