There is no doubt that Real Madrid is one of the strongest teams, but matches are not won just by being nominated.
Clearly they did not do well during the season or rather they did not go at their best, otherwise everything
would have been different.
They have always had outstanding players and equally good coaches, it was simply not their year.
Surely the bitter taste in their mouths will lead the team to push harder in the next competitions.

Real Madrid are still the best team in the champions league because they’ve won more trophies than any other team as far as the champions league trophy is concerned. But no matter how strong a team is, it’s very evident that they’re going to fall one day and be defeated. Real Madrid is a very strong team regardless of what happened in the champions league this season, i feel they will bounce back and with the new coach taken control over the team, they will definitely try as much to be better and be prosperous than they are this season.

But you forget that the previous year Bayer Leverkusen reached the Europa League final, yes Xabi Alonso has little experience as a coach in the Champions League, but you have to take into account that Bayer Leverkusen do not have the champions that Real Madrid have in their squad.
I had however heard of Real Madrid's interest in Cesc Fabregas as the next coach of the blancos

When Kompany was the coach of Bayern Munich in his first season, without any experience in the Bundesliga. He was able to win the trophy in his devut seaosndebut season. I feel it’s also possible that Xabi Alonso wins the trophy in his dusty first time as the head coach of Real Madrid. He has a very solid team here that can win him anything he wishes if he can manage them well, so I see nothing a big deal that he can’t win the trophy without having any experience before now.
