And yet, Enrique managed to build a young team that has everything, solid defense and an excellent attack. For me, PSG are the favorites in this final. They had a tough group stage, but reached their peak form in the play-off rounds, and that’s a very smart tactical calculation, which speaks to Enrique's high level as a coach.

I think this is beyond any reasonable speculation. I have thought about it too, but there is no way to draw strong conclusions. Mbappé's statistics in Ligue 1 are unmet I suppose and based on that it is hardly comprehensible to conclude that the departure of him could have helped Enrique. They might be playing as well if Mbappé was still there.

I understand the discussion though because PSG this season doesn't lack this special something that they lacked all those years while Mbappé was there, but was it him or other issues that led to them falling for themselves again and again?
