Curious why youd be scared - bad prior experience or something else? What provider do you use? I'd probably only feel nervous without one enabled, but each to their own, id be too nervous to even check lol. The only casino in my experience that has any sort of detection mechanism for a vpn that works (there are likely other good options, most are not worth considering, but proton is my recommendation) is william hill. That's the only casino out of what ive played on that has noticed anything. In their case they have a permanent popup show on your screen that says you're playing from a data centre and to disable vpn, but fortunately ive 456IQ and through shear intelligence discovered an awe-inspiring loophole - switching to another server that isnt classified as a datacentre. My genius has no bounds.
As Wapfika pointed out, clauses in terms of service can be used against us as we agreed to it. Though, I'm sure the casino will get a bad rap if they end up going back to their words.
Detection will be a hit or miss like usual. In addition, most gamba platforms could request KYC anytime. In which a player's home country will be verified.
