Xabi Alonso has shown us that he is a very good coach with his experience in Germany. He won the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen and reached the final of the Europa League. They only suffered one defeat in a full season. That defeat was against Atalanta in the Europa League final. They performed well this year as well, but had to finish the league in second place behind Bayern Munich. Now he is managing a much stronger team. He is a player who knows this team well and is familiar with its expectations, as he was with Real Madrid in the past. I am sure he will give Real Madrid all the magic they need to win the championship.
Xabi knows the La Liga very well and I'm very curious to see whether he'll hit the ground running like Zidane back then or whether he'll need time. In any case, I like him a lot and expect big changes at Real Madrid with him, especially about the squad. I can well imagine that he will sell 1-2 star-players and let more young players play.
It is very good that he trusts young players and he has created a great squad with young players at Bayer Leverkusen. As far as Xabi Alonso is concerned, from what I see, whoever deserves to play the jersey is the one who wears it. Real Madrid has big stars and it is a difficult team to manage. Only Xabi Alonso may have some trouble with this. If they do not have trouble with this, I am sure Real Madrid will be a much better team next year.
