If Nottingham Forest did better a little bit and got a position in top five for playing in Champions League next season, they will possibly have similar problems like Girona in La Liga and Champions League this season. It's hard for a very small club like Nottingham Forest to keep their star players in their club after a successful season, and Girona failed to do it last summer then they played this season very bad.

Nottingham Forest in reality won't play in Champions League next season but this season is truly amazing and memorable for them. They will have many things to do in the summer and they must aim at a long term development even a next season won't be too good for them. If they can maintain their position in top 6 or 7 for some seasons, they might change their club quality and competitiveness entirely and in a more sustainable development way.

Nottingham forest finished 7th this season and they have lot of positive things to take from this season performance. Just look at performance of Nottingham forest in last two season and you can clearly see there is marked improvement in their performance this time. Nottingham forest need to maintain this spirit in next EPL also to improve there position and qualify for UCL next time. For now Nottingham forest has to settle for Conference league and they need to give there best in conference league.
