I doubt anyone will fall for that amount.    Ask for $3 and you will get 10,000 more victims.  

I think it depends more on the method than the amount because people would fall for amounts higher than $3,000, but only if the scammer and his idea areis a good one, and not like this idiot who thinks he is smart but doesn't know he has made a joke out of himself and has made scammers a laughing stock with this attempt.
