You do not even need to read any of these. Just know that government is bunch of people. If you could realize that, then you will start to see government as not this big thing that is chugging along, but just bunch of people who want the best for themselves.
If you can see that, then yeah you are going to do fine. Most people do not see that, and they make mistake in trusting the government. Whatever they do, they do it to benefit themselves. This starts with the president (whatever your nation is, not just one nation) and goes all the way down to smallest power someone can get.
I have once seen a cleaning crew, literally a garbage truck, that tried to use their power, to make more money, by putting less effort and sort of boycott work or whatever, they were at strike but kept working, just bare minimum, and demanded more pay for more work and rejected all that is beyond their written contract. So all wants best for themselves, and would leave you in trash, if it means better pay for themselves.

of those who control it.
