Losing Xabi Alonso is huge deal for Leverkusen as he completely transformed club even leading them to unbeaten season. While they initially wanted Fabregas his decision to stay at Como led them to Erik ten Hag which is interesting move. Ten Hag brings strong record of developing players from his Ajax days but also challenges he faced at Manchester United so Leverkusen will need to see if his style fits their team and helps them continue their success.
And now, it's been officially confirmed Ten Hag signs the contract as new Leverkusen head coach to replace Xabi Alonso. The contract will last for 2 years, until June 2027.And one of the reasons why it had to be Ten Hag even though he failed at Man United is because Leverkusen believes in his ability, just like he did at Ajax which dominated Dutch football from 2018 - 2022.

Ten Hang is not a bad coach as most of us assume due to what happened during his stay at Manchester united. He was just unlucky to sail in a wrong boat with Manchester United but still had two trophies with them before his departure. He was vindicated after their departure and Manchester United did not only finish the season trophyless but almost got relegated with a new coach they considered as saviour.
Ten Hang might make a better coach for Leverkusen and continue from Xabi stop if the club would give him maximum support needed and players he wants to work with.
So a big congratulations to not just him for securing a good job but also to Bayern Leverkusen for securing a Seria winner as a coach, and am very much certain that he is actually going to take this Bayern Leverkusen side to another level only if they can support him in the transfer market.
