I have the feeling that he is just trying to attract attention and perhaps have some rich bitcoiners send some donations his way. Enough for him to be satisfied with it and give up on his search. The movie deal will surely earn him some money. Ross Ulbricht apparently received over 300 BTC in donations a few days ago. I wonder how much it would take James to forget about his lost hard drive?

He have a perfect plan to attract attention from rich bitcoiners. By doing that, those people will sympatize to him and will support him to continue his plan. Besides he become more popular from the movie, he will get more support from many bitcoiners, not just rich bitcoiners but other bitcoiners who don't know the real story.

I guess he is a type of man that can not accept the lost and with his wealth, he will use all things he can to get that drive. I wonder how long it will be finish.
