If we don’t take time to properly analyze the matchup, we’ll just assume the favorites will win easily.

This is one of the main reasons why many of us fail in sports betting as we don’t look for real value. We just see that a team is the heavy favorite and put our money on it. It’s a mindset that leads to losses. We think that just because we know the game, we already have the edge. But we overlook how the odds and the market are designed to balance the action.

So if you’re always betting on favorites without digging deeper, we all know how that usually ends.
You are right, and my agreement with you is based on my own personal experience, I remember vividly how I constantly lost my bets when I was still new fresh and new to sports betting, back then, I knew nothing about any sports and neither do I even know how to or where to start from when it comes to analysis.

So what I usually will do was to look for the team most people are betting on and bet on that team too, but at the end, I will lose the bet and also lose several similar bets on different sports as well, that usually got me confused as to whether it was possible that even the majority could be wrong about or with the possible prediction and outcome of a match? At the end, I learnt that indeed, the majority can be wrong at times, and the best way to not foolishly follow the majority in their mistake is to carry out my own research before placing bets based on what my own research and analysis tells me.

I don’t bet seriously and mostly do it for fun, but if I want to place a larger bet, I always do some analysis. I pay attention to the team lineup because there may be substitutions or injuries to key players. It is also useful to look at the statistics from previous matches, as they sometimes reveal patterns of wins and losses, although in my opinion this is not the most reliable factor. It is equally important to consider whether the team is playing at full strength or saving energy for a more important upcoming match. This approach can help you catch some really good odds.
