Have fantasy sports massively impacted traditional gambling?
Some may say that fantasy sports have pulled in more sports fans and new gamblers. Fantasy sports is kind of like a softer introduction to traditional betting scene allowing you to focus on data and statistics which you can use in traditional betting. The benefit here is you do not even need to risk real money in fantasy sports.
But the question is, do fantasy sports draw away people from traditional gambling? Fantasy sports may be seen as a better alternative as you can make up your own teams and play manager. Another question people ask is whether what would fantasy sports be considered as... gambling or gaming?
I was a bit confused about what fantasy sport was, until I saw team management in the OP. Though, I don't play it, but I have so many people who do spend a lot of time playing something like this. I don't really see it as a form of gambling, and I don't think it is. Since it involves you acting as a manager, creating your own tactics, signing your own players, and making the decisions of a real life manager, then I think it is a game, rather than gambling.
And again, it doesn't draw people away from traditional gambling.
It's just a form of entertainment, and not necessarily a real participation in a gambling activity.
