I was discussing with a mechanic today and he told me that the youths are now focused on online jobs. He said many of the apprentices who came to learn skills dropped out. He claimed that most of them are impatient and want quick money.

He claimed that these youths are now focused on G and Naija bet. I don't know how true his reasons are. How you reason am?

The thing be say the way people bin dey reason 10-15 years ago no be the same thing now. Youths wey no fit further their education go university level dey usually equip themselves with skills and even up to 10 years back, those wey maybe JAMB dey do them bad tin go switch go learn trade or skill but now, with how everywhere don red, peer pressure full everywhere, the youths no dey reason to go learn any skill instead them prefer to save up money to go HK.
Wetin dey cause these things? You answer am. Impatience. Youths no get time to learn such things because one major reason them go give you nah " you no fit dey learn carpentry job on an empty stomach nah", but then dey forget say e no also easy for the HK too but them feel say that one dey pay quick.
Although e dey somehow say all these more respectable vocations dey dey left for the older ones to do while the youths focus on more "softer" jobs, you no go blame them too because those who get idea for jobs like carpentry and the rest wey you mention, if them no dey in a "sellable" area, e go dey hard to see work wey go put food for table nah make some of these boys wey you dey see, some of them get skill but with how the country dey, them no fit use their skills well so instead go resort to these Yahoo and the rest.
