I downloaded Electrum because it is supposed to support bc1 wallets.
Every time I create a new wallet, it makes one starting with something like 0x9.
I'm not given a choice of what kind of bitcoin wallet.
Does anyone know how to specifically create a bc1 bitcoin wallet?
Electrum does support bc1 (Bech32 native SegWit) addresses
— but. Make sure you
have to explicitlydid not choose
the rightsome other script type during wallet creation.
Bech32 starts with Bc1. Legacy
, for example, starts with 1.
There is another that starts with 3.Electrum does not support addresses like the one you mentioned: 0x9.
That seems like an Ethereum or Binance Smart Chain address.
Make sure you downloaded Electrum from the real website, otherwise you might have some scam version of the wallet
!
