I think you are trying to say that we need to be free from "gambling addiction" and not just gambling. Because most people don't want to quit gambling but wants to reduce their level of addiction.

Well you are right, just as they say " a stich in time saves nine" anyone who wants to be free from gambling addiction will definitely start to practice self control measures as early as possible before it eats deep down.
