I totally agree, there's a saying that goes as thus " no one is coming to save you, only you can pick yourself up". People who are addicted consult others and some Even pay for therapy but after a few months they still struggle with gambling addiction. This isn't to discourage anyone from seeking advice from other people but change can only start with you, people would only help within their capacity but it's left you to change
It is clear to me that no one will ever change unless they want to. And no matter what other people do, and mostly these are relatives or wives/husbands, they most likely will not change anything. Sometimes they even make the situation worse with their help, so each case must be considered individually. Still, for myself, sometimes I am ready to stop playing for a certain period of time, it is good for me and I understand that everything revolves not only around them, although I am not completely ready to give up gambling completely, at least now, maybe later.
