As for the topic of the thread I don't think changes are needed in the system. Especially if we are talking about big changes. The system allowed me and many others, without being part of a local forum, or knowing anyone on the forum, to be able to reach the highest rank. Also, in my case, holding controversial opinions and having heated discussions. Sure it is not 100% decentralized but such a system is impossible in terms of merit because of the problems that have been exposed. It supposes a kind of oligarchy, because theymos appoints the merit sources and then they have more capacity to distribute merits. But it is an oligarchy that works.
