I think even if Manchester United want to copy Chelsea’s process of reviving their squad it will be really difficult because of United’s financial situation currently. For United to be able to make notable changes they will first need to overhaul their squad, giving way for incomings before they can make any significant changes and I think that is the stumbling block holding them from making signings currently.

They generally haven't made any good transfers lately, yet they're trying to actively cut costs at the club. I don't know what the model is, maybe they're coming up with something grand? A new model for running the club? Personally it looks incredibly cheesy to me if so, but I think it's much simpler than that - the management don't care about the league position, they need to cut costs as much as possible and keep to averages, so it's unlikely we'll see any changes any time soon.

The main reason why united has not made any serious signing in the time past is because of the type of coaches that United has been having and again united scouting agents because I don't really know why they have not been able to see any good quality player but always sees flop players who can't offer anything to the team
