I don’t think students are likely to become seriously addicted to gambling. Maybe only those who receive enough money from their parents to spend however they want. Those students might become dependent and spend money on gambling. Can it affect their studies? Well, for those who get too carried away and have the money for it yes, it might affect their academic performance. But for students who work to pay for their education themselves, they won’t be looking for other sources of income because they’ll only have enough time to work and study. And as for those students who think gambling is a good way to make money, I believe they’ll quickly realize it’s not that easy, and hopefully they’ll draw the right conclusions.

Any student that gambles will not take his studies serious because he will always be looking for how to get money in order for him to gamble with his friends. The serious ones wouldn't gamble, but they can give it a try and show little concern. Majority of students don't gamble because they don't have money and they depend on their parents. However, those in the university will gamble.
