In an interview with Boxing News, former Gennady Golovkin trainer Sanchez gave an honest assessment of Pacquiao’s shock return to the ring, claiming that although he is slightly concerned for the 46-year-old, he believes that he has a chance to defy the odds and defeat Barrios next month.Read in full https://www.secondsout.com/news/goloovkin-trainer-on-pacquiao-vs-barrios/
I guess we can’t really doubt him, especially since it’s coming from a trainer’s assessment, they definitely know better than most of us.
I’d love to see Pacman win, but I’m not as optimistic as I used to be. It’s hard to deny that his dominance in the ring has ended, and coming back at this age is something else. Still, it shows just how disciplined he is as a boxer to stay fit and confident enough to fight a young champion. That alone already makes him a winner in my eyes, and it’s no wonder he’s won the hearts of so many fans.
And it looks like the boxing scene is divided, there are some who says that he should stay retired for good, but there are also who think that he might be a good chance against the young Barrios as he is the weakest of the champion.
Again, lots of footage of Manny training with the young boxers like Magsayo and Marcial and yet Manny beat this young guys as Manny looks fresh despite running and then some sit ups and then shadow boxing. So Sanchez might be right on his honest assessment of Manny that he could defy Father Time with a big win here.
People sentiments is valid towards saying that Pacquaio should retire because he already acquired those prestigious awards or achievement gotten by a boxer.
There's nothing to chase back anymore especially that he already earned so many awards. This fight is somehow dangerous to his health knowing he's age.
But hopefully those footage can be converted into reality since somehow Barrios is seems to be dangerous opponent for Pacquiao. If he wins against the champion for sure this is great revival for his career, but if he lose I guess its better for him to decide to stop boxing and enjoy his retirement.
Manny says that it is passion to really fight, so maybe we can live it like that. Although most of us might speculate other reasons for him to make a comeback, that is to make a lot of money again.
But I can say that Manny really transcend the boxing world again. I mean I have seen podcast who are not into any sports but they talk about him and boxing and follow him in a day and says that Manny is truly one of a kind, that charisma to the people. They even said that the fans followed Manny to a restaurant and eat with him including the podcaster and they are in awe on what Manny means to boxing.
