After Pep Guardiola guided Manchester City to 3 Premier League titles in 3 consecutive seasons, I expected Manchester City's performance to decline this season because all eyes will be on them so that they will not win the Premier League title again this season. Pep Guardiola has already signed a lot of players to strengthen his squad and get ready to challenge for the Premier League title next season, so I am expecting Manchester City to perform better next season.
I think the reason why Manchester cityscity performance declined this season is because of some injuries their players were experiencing, especially their key players, De Bruyne and Rodri. If these two key players had been fit throughout the season, Manchester City form would have been better than how they performed this season, and they may have likely won the Premier League again. Even Liverpool, who won the Premier League at the end, wasn't in that great form toward the end of the season. So, if Manchester City had not experienced those injuries, they might have won it. Even next season, despite their new signings, if their key players still experience long-term injuries, they will likely not perform as people expect. So, the way things are even looking, it’s possible that next season's Premier League competition will be really tough and interesting.
