the NPT is a international treaty many countries can sign..
however irans NPT(specifically) had additional stuff attached to it, some side deals.. one of which is the JCPOA.. however the JCPOA was an addition which was added to relax some sanctions..
however iran want completely out of the whole NPT deal.. not just the JCPOA

jcpoa was about lifting sanctions for remaining peaceful
the NPT is about never making nukes

heck even pooya nudged against this when pooya mentioned "article 10" in another topic. which is about exiting the NPT(not just the JCPOA sidedeal)
